Semali Symposium, IKA SIG CIES 2025

The Indigenous Knowledge and the Academy (IKA) SIG successfully organized the annual Semali Symposium at the CIES 2025 Conference on March 24, 2025.

This year’s distinguished guest speaker was Dr. Elizabeth Sumida Huaman, who holds the Emma M. Birkmaier Professorship in Educational Leadership at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Sumida Huaman delivered a powerful and thought-provoking talk titled:"The Multispecies Worlds of Indigenous Learners: Place-Based Education and Slow Technology for Good Human and Earth Relations."
