Best Paper Award Winner, CIES 2025

We are delighted to share that the Indigenous Knowledge and the Academy (IKA) Special Interest Group (SIG) introduced the Best Paper Award for the first time at this year’s Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Conference.

We are pleased to announce that the inaugural recipient of this award is Dr. Fernigil Colicol, for his outstanding contribution in the field of Indigenous Knowledge, Curricula, and Methodologies. Dr. Colicol is an Assistant Professor at the College of Education, Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, Philippines.

The award includes a certificate of recognition and a monetary prize of USD 500.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Colicol and look forward to continued scholarly engagement with his impactful work.
